audio foul language filter

Specs: Windows xp
I am trying to find a way to filter foul language from audio when playing video via PowerDVD on XP.

TV folks put the feed on a delay and bleep the word.

Don't know of any software that can do that. After all how would it recognize the difference between darn and damn?

That would require voice recognization software and then program that software to provide a sound in addition to the work being spoken.

Doesn't sound like an easy task to program.

yeah i was thinking more along the lines of editing the closed caption or sub title files
