I installed Cakewalk Music Creator 2002 on Windows ME. It worked great. We then installed XP and Cakewalk hasn't worked properly yet.

1. We finally can hear the sample music, but cannot record or hear recording we do. It was suggested to download the audio card drivers created for XP, but I cannot find those. I was told that my Net Vista 2254 Model GO6 by IBM has a Sound Max sound card and the number is Intel 82801 BA/BAM AC '97. We do not have any instruments attached to the computer.

2. There is no record wave device available.

3.When trying to record audio (voice) we cannot choose an input.

4."Export audio" does not work.

So, I have 4 problems to solve and maybe by downoading the drivers, more that one will be fixed at a time, I don't know.

Thank you for your help.

I have been looking around a bit, and can't seem to find any downloads for it. It seems the chip of the motherboard is Intel 82801 BA/BAM AC '97 and some ones have that chip on.
So, if you know the brand of the motherboard (and model number) maybe I can search a little better.

I have a creative audigy card with XP running on a brand new asus p4 p4b motherboard.
it's wierd...i can get sound fine. but everytime i boot up i get two error messages that that they "the sound card is not installed properly"
when i try to add the xp drivers from the creative site it says "the sound card is not installed properly" and it won't install.
I also can't get my surround sound speakers working because it says that xp does not support usb support. so i go to the web site for the altec lansing speakers and download the xp driver for them, but when i try to install i get the sound card isn't installed properly error message.
it's weird because the speakers and the sound work fine. but the software to configure them won't.
also every so often i get an xp error message saying "xp has encountered a serious error and this program needs to be closed."
when i go into the xp tech support site and enter the number of the error it tells me that "a piece of hardware is probably installed incorrectly"
i do like xp i just wish i could get this working.
any idea's?
