Hi... Not a problem here; just an annoyance and I'm wondering if anyone else has this same glitch too.

The brief audio jingle that plays on the blue Welcome Screen plays fine for me for 1 second... breaks up in the middle... then plays fine for the remainder of it.
I spent two days trying to isolate why this has suddenly started happening, and I am certain that it is from True Vector within the latest Zone Alarm. I've done more experimantal uninstalls and reinstalls of Zone Alarm and have finally confirmed it's Zone Alarm causing it at startup.

Has anyone else noticed this too? Again, I have no computer problems at all and am just curious why this happens and if anyone else noticed this too.

Thanks !!

Get rid of Zone Alarm and get Comodo firewall from here. It is free as well...

Good morning guys... Thanks for that info; I'll check into those alternatives.
I've read some good comments regarding comodo as well so I'll scope that out too.

Actually, the Zone Alarm seems to be working fine with no slowdowns or other annoyances except for that little hiccup during the "welcome screen" startup.

Maybe that brief hiccup is due to the exact moment when the "true vector" starts. I browsed the Zone Alarm forum too to see if anyone else experienced it, but I couldn't find anything there.

Thanks guys again; nice forum here. Whoever owns it, I thank them for it.

Take care...

Zonealarm is absolute trash, Windows XP has a built in firewall that won't pester you like zonealarm does.

O.K., I ended up deleting Zone Alarm and that little audio glitch at the welcome screen is all gone. It was never a problem but just bugged me as to why it was occuring.

I ended up turning on the Windows XP firewall and ran the service port scan test at Shields Up, and it passed with no problem.

So I guess I'll leave this firewall on for today until I can read up on the comodo one. I do remember reading good comments about it too so I'll look into that this evening..

Thanks all very much!

Quick update. Ended up installing comodo firewall. At this early typing, it's all in it's default settings until I can learn the settings....

I'll head over to the comodo forum tonight to learn about it more, but in the meantime do most people custon configure it or leave it in its default settings?

t.i.a.

Another update.......

Wow, I do happen to reside in Massachusetts but unfortunately I didn't attend M.I.T. so I'm not sure I can figure out this firewall. This one appears to be for the advanced pc user; not for aged gents with limited pc experience like me.

But I haven't given up yet; I'll study it further and see if I learn how to configure it.
