Ok, this issue has been up a few times. All have the same answer of how to fix the problem that attachment is blocked by Outlook, (level 1): "have sender rename the attachment and resend it"
I refuse to belive that is the only way. Someone must have found a way around this by now??I understand why M$ have done this, but I think that they should have user make that choice of which attachment to block.
But who understand how M$ thinks.... :(

Go to http://www.dougknox.com. He has a script that allows you to fix this. You can also change it in the registry but I forget the key. Get Doug's script. Your antivirus is going to scream at you because it's a VB Script. It's OK to run. Doug is a MS-MVP and there's lots of good stuff at his web site. When you go to his site, I think it's in the Utilities folder. It works great. My Outlook now accepts .exe, .html, .zip, etc. You can set up whatever you wish to receive. Good luck. HTH

If you go to OE\Tools\Options - I think on the General page - Virus Protection - there is a setting telling OE to block Attachments because of VirusesI'm on 98 just now but there is a setting like that somewhere on OE\Tools - you probably have it checked

Outlook Express has always been able to accept and display or execute attachments. He asked about Outlook XP (a very different program), which is what I use for everything. Before I found Doug Knox's script I had to import everything that was sent to me, with an executable or archived attachment, into Outlook Express. Thanks to Doug I get it all in Outlook now.

i dont see any point in blocking certain types of attachment files unless u are a kid. a professional wont be bothered to accecpt only jpg's $ gif's but block zip and exe..
duh!!!! sounds completley useless and senseless
