HI all, I have an ATI tv wonder pci, running Win XP on a P4 1.5GHz machine with 320MB RAM. A few days ago, video capture just stopped working. I use ati's multimedia center 7.9. I just click on the record button, the screen flickers like usual, and then nothing. The record box doesn't show up and nothing is recorded on my computer. I tried to reinstall the driver to no avail. Did I alter the settings accidentally? If anynone has any ideas, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

Same thing happens with mine all the time. Those cards were only made to handle Windows 98, so sometimes they just freak out for no apparent reason on XP or Win 2000. The only way I have been able to fix it is to go to the device manager and 'uninstall' the device. Then reboot the computer and Windows XP will detect it again like its a new card you just installed. Make sure you don't install any drivers that Windows XP suggests for it though. Use the drivers that came on the CD with the capture card by choosing 'select a location' and choosing the CD-ROM drive. Then everything should work again. Of course I end up doing this once every few months for some strange reason, so its not an ideal solution, but it does work (for me anyway).

Cool thanks. I uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked. I just hope I don't have to do this all the time. Although I've had this card for about 9 months now and this is the first time this happened.
