Just put in an ATI Radeon 9000 Pro 128mb DDR.
Works PERFECTLY, BUT... Once in a while when I tab out of a game (That I shouldn't be tabbing out of) It crashes my shole system and reboots.
NOW, it just happened again in internet explorer when posting a message on a different message board! I've updated to the most current drivers, and it doesn't seem to help much. Anyone have any ideas?
ALSO, In Device Manager, there are 2 ATI pro 9000's. the first one, and "secondary" both say they're operating fine, and even when I try to remove one, it comes back by itself.

I had big problems with my Radeon 9700 pro. It also rebooted the system at random. It then died on me and i am still waiting for it to be returned, all i will say is i will not buy ATI crap again the driver support is very poor and the card seems to run ay silly temperatures whilst also needing a beefy power supply for stable operation.
The only info i can give you about your reboot problem is to try a more powerful power supply, i put a 400 watt PSU in my systen and it helped but then the card died after a couple of weeks.
Fallen Angel

The 9700 requires the ridiculous power supply, the 9000 doesn't.
Other than that, I've always used ATI and never had a single problem before. The problem seems to be more in windows xp FORCING itself to install the damn card instead of just letting me do it with the ATI CD.

I was playing Post Mortem and got the same problem with my GeForce 4 MX 420 64mb video card.
I had another problem with the game crashing when cutscenes played. I updated to 40.72 drivers and that solved that problem, but the game still rebooted periodically. I am hoping the next driver release will fix this problem. I don't think the game manufacturers are going to do anything about it; it doesn't appear to be their problem. Or, perhaps, they may release a patch to help with this.
Whoever is to blame (developer or hardware manufacturer), someone should fix these annoyances.
