I have a radeon AIW 8500DV. Lately my monitor has randomly been displaying a bunch of colored vertical lines. I have found no specific time of when this happens, but it seems to moreso when using ATI software. The only way to fix this is to reboot. Upon reboot i get this error:
Error Signature:
szAppName : Drivers.Display szAppVer : 100242420002AA1002
szModName : ati2dvag.dll szModVer : 6.14.10.6368 Offset : BA8006EA

any idea what the cause is, or more importantly how to fix it? I hope i dont have to buy a new card.. I think mine is out of warrenty

Isn't that the brand sprizankin' new RADEON driver. Maybe you should pick an older driver, or tweak the settings. Antistropic filtering coupled with Anti-aliasing has been known to cause vertical lines in some programs(per release notes). See if you can't remove the driver entirely and then reinstall. There must be a way right? Did you install the driver correctly? Choosing 'yes to all' when overwriting driver files and closing ALL applications before installing? Try to reinstall the driver file. It seems to be the problem. Or wait for the next driver. Or just use the old driver. Did you have problems with the old driver?
