When I installed the ATI control panel, my system load slowed severely. before hand, the windows XP loading bar would scroll by about 2.5 times before it would load the desktop, now it scrolls between 12 and 15 times before it loads the desktop.. I'm sure it has something to do with the ATI Control panel because that was the only thing I did between reboots... and this is the second time its happened. I installed this on a fresh install of XP, so I can't be sure if any updates would solve this problem or not... but if you know of a solution or a specific update to solve this, please help.

two possibilities:
install latest ATI driver (control panel will not work with the driver)
if that does not help, try uninstalling and reinstalling...
check ATI site for possible help.
using Google, search for problem.

Try installing the driver ONLY. I hate the ATI control panel thingy, but I love my ATI XPert 2000 Pro AGP.
