hi
I have a problem with my cd burner, its a asus 48x cd burner. Whenever I try to erase a cd-rw it wont erase it. I tried erasing the same cd-rw at my cousins house and it worked. Erasing a cd-rw on this burner has never worked. I tried in nero and half way threw it it gives an error. Please help.

Some burners are fussy with some brands of media - it might be that ur CDRW disk just isn't compatible with ur burner.

Try a different brand - if that doesn't work, then u can start worrying !!

GoodLuck

Also, see if you can adjust the write speed to something lower - 48x is about the maximum that the technology can handle to it can trip up on itself - slower is safer, but I don't know if Nero gives the option to adjust write speed on format

48X speed has nothing to do with CDRW's. This figure only refers to CDR's. CDRW's write at 4X or maybe 8X. Speed is not the problem here. Some burners are just fussy about the media you use. It is not unusual for a CDRW to behave this way. Ty another brand. If that does not work then your burner just does not like CDRW's. Get another burner. They are relatively cheap these days.
