Yeah i ran the Nero info tool and it said my aspi layer installation was corrupted. I have the latest drivers from adaptec. When i ran aspichk it said that only one file (aspi32.sys) was version 4.71.2 all the rest are 4.6. And i thought XP was only supposed to have 2 aspi layer files. Please help!

If you only use Nero you don't even need to have aspi installed. Nero uses its own aspi layer.
