Hi. I have been really annoyed by my computer lately. This didn't happen before. After I've arranged all my icons/files by 'Type' on a particular folder and turned 'Auto Arrange' off, I come back to that folder and all the files are rearranged randomly but, auto arrange is still off. Is there a way to make it so that all the folders in the computer are arranged by type unless I specify otherwise on a particular folder? My other problem is that my clock is ALWAYS running two hours behind even after I fix it. It changes back after a while. If I leave the computer on for a while and come back to it, it will have changed the time and have fallen back by two hours. Please let me know if this is something that can be fixex as well. Thank you for your help. I greatly appreciate it.

I also would like to see how to set the layout folder-by-folder without it getting overridden when I look away, so let's hope somebody has an answer. Re the time problem. I suspect you have set XP to pick up the correct time from the internet, and you are hooking into the wrong time zone. Check these option settings in Control Panel>Date and Time.

Hi. I still haven't found anyone with an answer to arranging the icons by preferred setting. I'm still having this problem on my computer as well.
