Is it possible to have the icons on your desktop arranged in a list format like you can in regular folders? If so, how?

WinTidy 2 from pcmag does this, but only registered users can download :-(

Don't know if this is what you're looking for, but you might give this a try: Make a new toolbar 1) Right click on the taskbar; 2) click on "toolbars;" 3) click on "desktop" Then, start again: Clear off the existing desktop 1) Right click in any open space on the desktop; 2) click on "arrange icons by;" 3) click on "show desktop icons" (to remove the existing checkmark) When you've done both of these, you will have another toolbar available on the taskbar labeled "desktop" AND an "empty" looking desktop. When you click the newly created "desktop" toolbar, you can then RIGHT click within the new toolbar and select "sort by name" to get an alpha ordered toolbar. It won't give you all the elements of the "details" view (date, size, etc), but it will arrange your desktop items in alpha order. Hope this is helpful to you. Post back and tell us of your success! L
