ares galaxy won't connect

i have the latest ares 2.0.9 and i cannot get it to connect, i have tried prt forwarding, and i turned off the firewall, ive tried older versions, ive tried the ares connection fixer, ive changed many settings, but nothing works, please help me, please. This is actually stressing me out, ive been trying for hours already today non stop.

What kind of network are you connecting to? Work, school?

I'm having a similar problem. I have two desktop PCs, both with Windows XP and latest Ares. Both connected to same router, each has own IP address. Both connect to the internet just fine, but only one connects with Ares. I've also tried all of the above settings (re, firewall, etc). Any suggestions?
