USB devices include but are not limited to;
cameras
mice
keyboards
flash drives
measuring equipment
medical equipment
tablets
phones
mp3 players
card readers
printers
scanners
phonographs
headphones
speakers
and on and on.

Which devices are you asking about?

computer jn hardware config I guess. I have usb 2. and sometimes I'll get a pop-up that says your device will perform faster if you have whatever. I don't believe it has anything to do with burning a cd.

✔ Best Answer
When you get that message about your device will perform faster, it means you don't have the USB 2 drivers loaded for your motherboard. If you post the make and model of your computer, we can help you locate the drivers for it.

It depends on what type of CD burner you have. If it's an internal one that connects via SATA or IDE, then no, that message will have anything to do with burning speed. If you have an external burner that connects via USB, then yes, you could burn at a faster speed with the correct drivers installed.

Please don't answer in code.

My guess is the rear USB ports on your 10+ yr old motherboard are USB 2.0. If you have front USB ports on your tower, they are probably USB 1.1. Do you get the "your device will perform faster" when you connect to the front ports? If so, try connecting your device to a rear port & see if you still get the popup.

Asus A7N8X Deluxe E1170
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 3200+
2.20 GHz. 3.00 GB of RAM

Is this all you're looking for or is there something else I can get for you?
sorry is this code to you riider & Ewen ? I only know what I taught myself since 1998 & I think I do pretty darn good. I've gotten this far without anything major happen that I couldn't fix so I'm grateful to be here. anyway let me know. I did connect a wireless mouse in back & didn't get any msg about "your device will perform faster" so riider you're probly right about the front ports. thanx for that.
I may check out Windows XP Driver Update; Windows XP Drivers; Latest Download. Microsoft Certified. (Recommended) Windows-XP.DriverUpdate.net. that's alot to do whe you have a home to take care of too. whew ~
thanx people,
