PLS HELP do not want to scrub & reinstall boots up=ok / icons on desktop=ok BUT selecting any application - none work message=application error = The Application failed to initialise properly (0xc0000142)click on ok to terminate. I am a novice andI cannot use any tools to resolve, any help appreciated, thanks KEN

I have installed sp1 previously. The system war performing well, until this problem occurred. I was installing an application and an upgrade pop-up offered to upgrade another application and I was to quick with my fingers and said yes. result everything appears to loads up ok, but unable to start any application and just receive the error message as quoted on my first message.
