Apple Computer has warned Windows users that a very small number (less than 1 percent) of its latest iPod (with video) models are affected by a virus.
Apple’s technical support website warns: "We recently discovered that a small number—less than 1 percent—of the video iPods available for purchase after September 12 left our contract manufacturer carrying the Windows RavMonE.exe virus."
"The iPod nano, iPod shuffle and Mac OS X are not affected, and all video iPods now shipping are virus free," company Vice President Greg Joswiak said on Tuesday night.
"As you might imagine, we are upset at Windows for not being more hardy against such viruses, and even more upset with ourselves for not catching it," Joswiak said.
Yeah, yeah......whatever Apple!

Interesting concept. They are upset at their competition for having an inferior product. If Windows machines were as stable and as secure as MACs, MACs wouldn't even exist anymore. That, and their superior performance in the graphics industry, was their saving grace.

they'd go belly up if windows ceases support for iPods ... how's that for a critical update? :-)
as you can read here, they've done it before:

Today's subliminal thought is: 'Calm down ... it's only ones and zeros.'
