Apple itunes on windows platform

Specs: Windows XP
I HAVE ITUNES INSTALLED ON MY PC WITH WINDOWS XP.
DO I NEED SAFARI,AND APPLE QUICKTIME
TO SYNC AND USE MY IPOD.
I KNOW I NEED APPLE MOBILE DEVICES,BUT CAN I GET AWAY WITH JUST THAT.

I also have Win XP Pro and have ITunes installed. You do not need Safari. Quick Time downloads and installs with ITunes. ITunes will find your Windows Media Player music and convert it to use on your IPod when you add the folder in ITunes.
