Comment:

My computer hasn't been wanting to shut itself down automatically since I installed XP. So anyway, I was checking on the net and I saw that enabling Advanced Power Management sometimes fixes the problem. But when I enable APM, and I click shut down... my computer just restarts itself.

Does anyone know why it does this?

Neil: APM is known to do that,
suggest you turn it off and post back with more info on your original problem.
