my pc have winXP and i got apache even though i didnot install it.and now my IIS wont work..pls somebody help me how to remove this apache.i cant find any apache folder in the local c.i really to run IIS.thank you.

You say that you didn't install Apache? Then your problem could not be Apache.
However, I suspect that you did install it. There can only be one web server running and that's why IIS won't work. The same thing holds true for FTP servers.
You can remove it by going to Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel, and then IIS should work again. I'm not sure if it would have to be reinstalled or not.
You should stick with Apache though. IIS isn't a serious web server. It's fine for playing around, but you'll notice the sites that use it aren't up all the time. Not to mention Microsoft is at the low end of the learning curve on security.

i did try to remove it by add/remove programs, but i can't find it.i try to find the folder but i didn't found it.i'm confused.actually my pc has 2 OS,one is XP and the other is linux.i have installed IIS but when i run localhost,it won't work.but it do display apache ssl page.so, i guess that apache is running not IIS.what is the problem actually?does linux effect windows?i don't think so.

You're right. Linux exists on another partition that windows can't even read, so it's not your Apache server under Linux.
Maybe the reason you're seeing an Apache SSL page is because you have IIS and Apache set up to use the same directory for web pages.
Apache puts an index.htm file in the root web directory, so whenever you open your browser you'll see whatever index.htm file is in that directory...in this case the one Apache put there.
So, given what you've told me, I assume that your IIS is working right, but when you open your browser and point it to localhost, you're seeing the Apache start page.
