Comment:

I updated the firmware to 2.06, and now windows wont properly refresh the drive when a new disk is inserted (it keeps on showing the previous disk lable). Nor can I erase my cdrws with the built in windows command.

I can format / erase the disk using nero and incd.

Even when I've formatted the disk I still can't copy to it using the built in xp features, it complains that the drive is empty.

It writes fine when i use nero or incd.

Only when I reboot does it refresh the drive to show the new disk's lable.
I have unitstalled the drive, rebooted nd reinstalled it but the problem persists.

Please help.

The XP burning feature is just crap. It seems to work fine for a lot of people, but when it won't work for your particular burner (or mine), there doesn't seem to be any way to fix it. I've tried several times, and finally given up. It recognizes my burner just fine, lets me send files to the staging area just fine, but will not write to the cd.

Hey, does anybody know of any hacked firmware, or a way to burn safedisc v2 with the a-open 2440 cd writer, Its starting to piss me off, my burning is turning into a piece of crap not being able to burn cd's with this copy protection.
