Hello, my problem is that a number of websites and pages load partially or not at all. I am on aol, and everytime I log on I find what should be the main picture is simply a white box, I can view the message forums but in the section where I can write replies all I get is a white or grey box into which no text may be entered. I can't use the aol self-diagnosis program because it won't load. I can't talk to a technical advisor because the tech chat room won't load. I really can't be bothered to phone them because that rarely ends well.

Any advice, apart from 'what are you still doing on aol you fool' or 'buy a better computer you primitive' would be welcome!

Thank you!

It sounds like UrlUpd.exe and it is not your friend.

Go to the link below if you are comfortable using regedit.

Or to the link below and get the fix

Thank you, I tried the quick fix and the problem is not caused by that malware. It seems I can't load anything that is based on html? Sorry but everything I do is guesswork really I really am quite ignorant.

After you load AOL and log in use another browser until you get it fixed. I don't surf with AOL anymore and just keep it for e-mail so my version is old and I haven't logged on for ages but this sounds like a familiar problem but I can't remember the fix. You can get to the AOL helps boards in another browser by going to aol.com as they are all web based now. Mary
