AOL keeps shutting down!

Hi there. I've been having constant problems with AOL over the last 2 weeks. It's strange, I can connect to the internet via DSL initially but then after a random amount of time I get a message saying that there was an error with the AOL software and it will be shut down. I then get disconnected and have to use AOL's system restore to get back on. My firewall says it's something to do with shellmon.exe (setupdb), I tried deleting this file but the error still occurs. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling all software, modem drivers and firewall. I don't find the AOL advisers very helpful. I'm now out of ideas.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you have an older version of AOL installed it may be causing a conflict. I had this happen to some friends of mine. My advice to you would be to dump AOL as soon as you can and get a better ISP like Verizon or maybe you have a local Internet company that offers DSL. AOL has been a thorn in a lot of people's sides including mine. I wouldn't use them if it was Free. Just my opinion. Good Luck...

It makes them think you're up to something...

best way is to formart and re-install your system. don't install anything that is connected to AOL in the future. AOL is a virus which takes over your machine.
