anyone get Hp5300 scanner to work on xp

Help have tried a patch from hp and still not working. Installed software that came with scanner, should I uninstall and try pluging into usb 1st and see what happens? Scanner worked fine with win98. My computer is new came with home xp installed.

Go to the following web site and look for your scanner and find the Software update CD and you can have them send it to you I did for my HP scanjet 4200cse and used the W2K drivers for XP worked just fine. http://partsdirect.hp.com
