I'm going crazy! I just purchased a copy of Pro Show Gold so I can make slideshows. The program was very easy to learn, and I was able to create a very professional looking slideshow in a matter of minutes. However, when I try to burn the slideshow to a CD as a VCD, I get an error message telling me that it can't locate my drive. It then tells me that I am a non-administrator and that I need to re-install the program as an administrator. I figured the problem might be because my husband and I have separate accounts on our computer. So, I tried logging him off, making him a limited user and even deleting his account, and none of that worked. I've un-installed and re-installed the program at least 100 times trying to figure out what's wrong, and nothing is fixing the issue. I've been in contact with someone in the tech department, and he told me to un-install and re-install, try doing it on both accounts, etc. - none of that worked. I'm totally stumped at this point. Has this happened to anyone else? If so, were you able to fix it? How?
Thanks!

Is this a built in feature of the software (burning as a VCD)? What format is it saving these shows in?
If it is not a built in feature then try different burning software.

Jimi - yes, the VCD option is built in. I can actually save the CUE/BIN files to my hard drive, but I'm not sure what to do with them after that. I burned them to a CD, but it wouldn't play when I put it in the DVD player. A VCD should play w/o any problems in the DVD player. I'm sure there's a step I'm missing somewhere, but I just can't figure it out.
Thanks!

Lots of times certain software will not work with certain drives. You should always check the software website and see if they have tested it with your writer and see what the results are.
Heres where you need to start,

God made men and then rested, God made women and none of us has rested since..

Try this site instead, They had no listed drives there so who knows whether your drive is supported or not. Right now you can only assume it is. Maybe a answer for you lies on this page.

Now you can to have a bigger disc.

I am using version 2.0 of proshow gold. First of all go under help and click on upgrade CD/DVD and see if there are any updates that will help you write to disk from within the program. I had the same problem when I first got the program and I think that's how I fixed it. You get one year of free upgrades to the program and then after that you have to pay a small fee for the upgrades so make sure to check often and get all the free ones you can in a year. As for playing back on DVD players I don't have much experience with that because I don't have one on my TV so I have only made slide shows to e-mail to people, post on my webpage or play on other computers by burning onto a CD-R. I do know the cheaper the DVD player the better your chances are of getting the slide show to play. Other users have told me the slide shows don't play in the expensive players and the $50 no name ones will do fine for playing back photos burned to disk. If you don't get it resolved then try their tech support and see what they say.
Here is a good site to find out about what the various DVD players can play back.

God knew I couldn't be a pioneer, that's why he gave me a computer!

I created a DVD with the Trial version of ProsShow Gold a few weeks back and it worked great on my DVD Player attached to my TV.
I then purchased the full program on Friday 29th April 2005
I created a DVD with the program and when I put it into my DVD player, I see the Proshow Intro, but the menu for the show does does not appear. I press play and nothing happens. I can view the show on my computer using Ulead DVD Player.
One weird thing about my PC that may help, when I watch a DVD using Windows Media Player, I cannot hear any sound???
Hope you can help

Same problem for me, with trial version: no menu available in DVD created. Perhaps the problem is connected with the new version (i've seen it has been published some days ago).
Other problem, installing the program in W2000, also as administrator, the presenter plugin does'nt install, asking the administrator rights.Hope someone can help us.
