But if you only have 32bit, AVG is easier to install as you can do it without providing e-mail details which you do eventually have to with Avast - plus I personally think the AVG interface is easier to use - no icons just plain text buttons.

johnr is right, you will want to go with AVG. AVG is a real good free antivirus.. you can all look at Bifdefender Antivirus,It too is free and works real good.

The new AVG version 7.1 64-bit compatable, but you have to buy it. For the free version: http://free.grisoft.com/
