Comment:

I recently upgraded from Me to XP and have discovered several problems with my system. Everytime I opened my anti-virus software it closed almost instantly. The same problem occured when I tried to run regedit or any command functions. My antivirus worked in safe mode with no problems detected, but online scans found a trojan and the agobot virus. I think I have cleaned and/or deleted these using avg and a2, and my antivirus now works upon start-up, but I would love someone who really knows what is what to confirm that I have cleaned things up. There are still several HijackThis entries which seem odd to me, but I don't know enough to want to make additional changes. Anyone out there familiar with this sort of problem?

First question, what anti-virus software are you running?

Evan, Go to the link below and download the "Fixswen.inf" file.

"Save the fixswen.inf file to your local hard disk, right-click on the file and choose install".

"A Setup INF file to undo registry changes made by W32/Swen@MM and other threats that prevent REGEDIT, BAT, COM, EXE, PIF, REG and SCR files from running".

Fixswen

It's worth a try,
Tufenuf

Would anyone be willing to look at my HijackThis log and let me know what they think?
