Windows update was working fine, but about four updates fail to install. The updates download fine, but then the installer skips over them all. I looked in the log file and found 0x80070003 error: I have tried deleting the WUTemp folder but it did not help. Any suggestions?

Sorry, error: Cannot find the specified path.
I tried installing the file downloaded and it seems that it is trying to extract to a temporary file of C:\Document~1\\Local... it leaves out the user account the temp file is located under. How might I change it back?

David: you may have used the TweakUI program to modify the location of the Program Files directory.
if returning the Program Files directory to its original drive C: does not resolve the issue, then try searching the Registry and modifying any keys that were set to D:\Program Files\... to
C:\Program Files\...another tip that might help;
to change path of directory to open with Windows Explorer:
if you change the properties of the windows explorer "Target" window to
C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.exe /n,/e,C:\
explorer will open in the root directory of the C drive,
replace C:\ with the path to the directory you want explorer to open in.
