Another version of setup is already running.

February 27, 2011 at 09:12:41
Specs: Windows XP
Problem: Unable to load Kodak Printer Scanner software.
Error message: “Another version of setup is already running. Only one version of this application can run at a single time”.
Details: Shortcut to Kodak 5300 AIO scanner portion of software didn’t work. Uninstalled everything associated with this part of printer. Attempted reload with original CD and also with newest CD from the company.
Result: Screen: Initial hourglass plus “Preparing to install” , but in 1 second, message disappears with no further activity.
Repeated trials, same result until full error message that “setup is already running”.

Program called Process Explorer shows all applications currently running, but NO Kodak or Setup indications.

Computer “setup” system likely is OK since I have loaded on 2 different, other new applications . ????
Thank you. murraycorw@aol.com
