I have this annoying problem with my wallpaper on my desktop computer. The computer is only six months old and this annoyance has already happened 3 times. For some reason, the picture I have selected as my wallpaper is being replaced by something else. On the first two occasion the picture had been replaced by vertical multi colored lines. Today when I opened my computer, my wallpaper had changed to the menu you would get when you "right click" on the taskbar. This "picture" was filling my whole screen. All programs on the computer have the latest updates and no virus or malware found. The computer works fine otherwise. I'm just curious about this little problem that appears appears from time to time. Thanks

Silly question, but does someone you don't get along with have access to your computer. Do you have a password?

Does this happen with all profiles or just the one you normally login as?

Nobody else has access to this computer. Antivirus and firewall are all up to date and as I said no virus or malware are detected.

Well, I assume that there is only antivirus installed in your computer. THIS IS NOT ENOUGH! You need to install some anti-spyware/anti-malware softwares, such as Ad-Aware SE Personal and Spybot - Search & Destroy.

One program not finding anything wrong does not mean that others do not neither.

Take me as an example, except the anti-virus and firewall, I have 7 other programs to scan for the spyware/malware and protect my registry. Most of the time some of these 7 programs would find something that the others of the 7 wouldn't.

A good example is that I have disabled the Windows Security Center Notification for the Anti-virus, firewall, and auto-update. Ad-Aware SE Personal DO NOT see this as a problem so they won't show in the scan result, but Spybot - Search & Destroy DO THINK this could be a problem and will show in the scan result.

I got most of my anti-spyware/anti-malware programs from this webpage:

Hi, everyone ^_^
