I think that AMD will have a hard time selling this idea to the public. I have always been partial to Intel, but I have friends that swear by AMD. I've always felt a computer is a computer, like a car is a car. You research and then try to make the best choice. You can get a good or a bad one in any model, it's kind of a luck of the draw. Get a bad one though and you'll never buy that model again. I do give AMD credit for being competitive and bringing the price of proccessors down, and thank them for that. It will be interesting to see what happens with AMD. Thanks for sharing the article.

Well I am the same way about Intel me self but I must say I am running a 800mhz AMD Thunderbird just because of the cost of the P4 chips and RDRAM where way to much and I get parts at cost. I think what AMD is wacked and will not work but that is just me opinion.

I love my AMD Athlon, and I know that AMDs escpecially those with DDR memory can outperform Pentium 4s with higher MHz. However this garbage AMD is going to put out will just make it more confuzing. I think that AMD should work more on letting people know that their chip is better, rather than confuzing the buyer.

The "chip wars" are over. We won.

There's precious little reason anymore for spending over a $100 for a CPU. The point of diminishing returns, for now anyway, was reached well before we hit 1 ghtz.

Myself, I prefer AMD. In recent months they've enjoyed better price/chipset support than Intel. The whole Rambus thing was a disaster.

Hey Kevin, why not create a hardware forum here ?

Because it is not my message board but I will send a E-Mail to Justin and see what he thinks. A hardware fourm would be pretty cool to post stuff like this in and talk about stuff like why Rambus sucks compared to DDR and the such. BTW, Moiety. I can't remember who but someone just came out with a MoBo for the P4 that supports DDR DIMM's, now that is kick ass in my opinion because the bottom line is that Intel is kicking AMD's butt's. I hate to say that, I really do because AMD was doing so well keeping up with Intel in the speed dept. Personly I don't think any normaly person need's the speed Intel is coming out with, that is why I built this box a a few months ago with a AMD Thunderbird 800Mhz, I don't need anything more than that to do what I want. What can't I do with a 800Mhz CPU, anyways, I shall shut up and go send that E-Mail.
