alwys freezes- ie browser

OS: win xp pro
CPU/Ram: 2200+

whenever i click on a link that opens a poup, and after i close the popup, the original browser always freezes. how can i fix this, and what may be the problem.

p.s.: if it matters, sp2 already installed.

Please use Firefox. It's a better browser and it blocks pop-ups.

The dangers of using IE have been pretty well publicized in the tech news, but the mainstream folks don't talk much about it.

You can download Firefox (it's free) from mozilla.org. Then you won't have to worry about how an old, tired, insecure browser reacts to the nasties it finds on the internet.
