When I shut my computer down I always get an ending program message.I recently reformatted the drive for another reason (not a virus) and I still get this message. Its no big deal just a little annoying not knowing what program is running. I regularly run adaware and spybot and have up to date virus protection. I cannot find what the program is. Any ideas?

the name of what it says is not responding first of all would help a deal.
also, www.google.com and type in whatever it says it is, and see if that brings up any results.. Do you notice anything in the taskbar or system tray thats always running when you press "end now" possibly?

It just says "ending program" not program not responding. The message only appears for a couple of seconds with the progress bar filling up and then the comp continues to shut down as normal.I havent been able to see a name anywhere, even on the message. I'm carefull not to have too many programs running if I dont need them. I used msconfig to edit the programs that run at startup to only run norton antivirus
