Is there any product that will essentually do what Norton GoBack does? I want something that will return my PC to what it was 1, 2, 3 or five days earlier. I am not looking for a full scale backup program. Any help would be appreciated.

While i've never used Deep Freeze, my impression of this software was that it's strength was for protecting/keeping a computer in it's current state as a simple reboot removes all changes made in a session. It doesn't seem too flexible for making changes. And i'm not sure works for testing new software that requires a reboot. Have you used it?.

If you want to use xp system restore. Use system snapshot, you can set this to set a restore point at startup. http://www.angelfire.com/wizard2/hk...

you may also use Acronis True Image. It supports GoBack and is quite a good data backup tool by itself. It's also very user-friendly and may be easily used by not a computer expert.

sorry to take over your post but i am wondering is there a software similar to goback which would work with vista 64bit rc2?
Thanks in advance.

I forgot to mention that presently i have installed windows xp,2k,and vista 64bit rc2. SO what could be an alternative to norton goback since it is uncompatible with vista. Thanks

To answer you question, the only product that I find that is better than Goback is Rollback Rx. It can take more checkpoints while using less space.

Also from reading thier forum - http://www.horizondatasys.com/forums/ it looks like it currently supports Vista32 and will have support for Vista64 at the end of the month.
