alternatives to ipconfig

Does anybody know of an alternative to ipconfig that can be used from a dos boot disk, I need to know the MAC address prior to any software being installed.

I don't know if this will work, but it's worth a try. Copy the file "getmac.exe" from the C:\Windows\System32 folder to your DOS boot disk. Boot from the floppy then from the prompt type: getmac.exe and press enter.

Just thought I'd add, if you don't find getmac in the system32 folder you can get it in the i386 folder on the Windows XP CD.
