Okay, I'm looking to move all the data from two 80gig drives to one 160gig drive. Now, I wanta do this without ghosting if possible (lacking the tools). Would it be possible to just slave the 160 and straight copy all the files? Would the 160gig be bootable if I did that? Would Windows XP freak out if it found out what was done?

Depends on what you want to copy when you say ALL DATA. If you want to copy EVERYTHING, including WinXP OS files then yes, it probably will freak out. But if your trying to copy 80GB worth of media files then Slaving it will work.
If you want to copy your entire OS to the other drive AND make it bootable, then ghosting would be a better option.

Well im not the best at file transfers though i tried to do it before. Try using the files and settings transfer wizard in windows xp. That is my only suggestion. Good luck

You can try copying all your files to the 160 HD then run install/repair from the XP CD.Not from the repair console, but from the install menu, REPAIR EXISTING INSTALLATION. Good luck.

some harddrive manufactors offer free software for transferring your operating system and files from one harddrive to another. Also i have heard of using xcopy from within dos to do this. But if you are using ntfs xcopy probably will not work
