Alt codes don't work

April 5, 2009 at 09:19:35
Specs: Windows XP
When I try to type alt codes they do not work. I am able to do other thing such as Ctrl + alt + Del, so I am confused as to why my alt codes are not working

For a desktop keyboard, you're holding down the alt key and typing the code on the numeric keypad? ■¢°

Or is this a laptop you're using?

You didn't answer Skip's question. Are you using the numeric keypad?

Num Lock on? Numeric keypad types digits in any other application?

I've tried 3 desktops with 6 different OS's and can't duplicate your problem.

You still didn't answer the question. We can't assume you're using the keypad: you need to tell us.

Well I was playing around with some settings and figured out that If my Num Lock is OFF I am able to use the Alt Codes. That doesn't make sense to me, but I guess if it works then it works.

Thanks for the help.
