I have a Sound Blaster Audigy with some Altec Lansing Speakers..there are 5 total, 1 sub, 2 front, and 2 surround..i only get sound out of the 2 front and sub...no surround..i've tried all settings with the audigy software and with windows..in the surround mixer i try 5.1 speakers, 4 speakers, headphones..etc...all of them only let me play out of the 3.

if you have windows xp you also have to change the speaker configuration in there aswell. Its in the control panel. Make sure that you are using the right settings for your speakers. If they are digital speakers you want to checkmark the digital out only setting. If not then do not check that. Make sure you have the latest drivers and that you have the audio connection in the back hooked up right

i'm on xp, and i ahve it setup in the control panel correctly withe the latest drivers..and this was working before a format.

I don't know but try Creative Support and FAQ page for some possible solutions. Only you have the needed info to proceed on that page.

I'm having similar problems also. And just like Steve, my problems started happening after I formatted my HD. Nothing inside my computer was altered. Must be a software issue, but I'm using same drivers, program version, etc. Also, I have told XP that the speaker configuration should be 5.1 surround sound with my 5.1 Desktop Speaker set. One thing, though: When I installed the Audigy on XP this time, I was asked the default speaker setting and I think I said 2 speakers, because I was only going to use 2 speakers at that time. I've gone into mixer since then, but nothing changes it back to 5.1 surround sound. Its aggrevating to click "test" in the 5.1 configuration and then listen as 3 of the 5 don't even say "(center) channel" or "(left surround) channel. (Or whatever that reassuring, pleasant female voice says.)
I was going to get a new sound card, but the web site I trust, sharkyextreme.com, still says Audigy is the best for gamers.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
