all files changed to ink extension?

Specs: Windows Vista
all my files have changed to the ink extension and when i try to unzip the xp_exe_fix.reg it says the registry could not be completed because some keys are open in the system...and this happens eveytime....if anyone could help..i have windows vista

aanchal, I run XP so they might be different. All sorts of different proggies use the '.ink' file extension (see: for which). Possible you're calling for one of them that isn't there any longer? Maybe they were changed by a trojan? What if you were to restore to several months ago? Would that put the extensions back?

i just had the same problem...don't worry it's not a virus!! phew i know!! but all i did was restart my comp and in between my start up screen and the windows starting screen i continually pressed f8 until my setup came up then went to start windows with last know working config...and it brought me to my desktop and everything was you may need to restart it 2 or 3 times before you get the setup menu...but it worked for me and i hope it helps others with this problem!! ps: i have windows 7 which is similar to vista
