Alert on audit log failure in Windows XP

October 2, 2012 at 07:53:27
Specs: Windows XP
A compliance issue: NIST SP 800-53 Rev. 3 control AU-5, Response to Audit Processing Failures, requires that a system (a) provide alerts and (b) take specified actions in the event of an audit processing failure.

Can Windows XP be configured to provide an alert to the user when an audit processing failure occurs?

From the control panel, look at Administrative tools, Computer Mgmt. Performance & Alerts, Alerts

Click action & try to set something there.
