Hi..this post refers to those who got the ADSL spped touch usb modem from the BT service..(UK) I just got it yesterday (22/04/02)..but my activaton date is this friday..i connected it all up and just tried to see if it worked (i tried connecting) but then it said no dial tone found. i picked up the phone to make sure there was a dial tone and there was. is it becuase the service hasn't been activated yet or something else??? thanks.

My suspicion is that a DSL modem gets a different dial tone then the normal one. I think it's because it hasn't been activated.

I can help you there. When the service is activated, both lights on the modem will continuously glow green. What you have now is perfectly normal until the service is activated. A word of warning though, if you are going to be using programs like WinMx (in particular) or Kazaa, you will find that your system may start crashing and rebooting with a system error message. Get the new 1.6 drivers from here. You may have to spend a little time looking and you will probably have to get the drivers from an FTP server. Don't know if these are any better, but since I did a reinstall and avoided WinMx, I've had no problems with the old drivers.
