Hi ...First off I don't use AIM so if I was you and you are still having problems with it , I would try to uninstall it and redownload it afterward ... Remember though once you uninstall it from the add and remove program area , Then I would do a serach for AIM on your computer , whatever it finds delete that as well , Then delete your recycling bin , Once that is done restart your computer , Once you boot back up again redownload AIM again , I hope it help ...

I had the same problem. I ran a search on hyperbarss3.dll on my computer. Next, I exited out of AIM and deleted hyperbarss3.dll That seemed to work for me.

Hey! I had the same problem Billy did with AIM, So I went to that website from RoadRunner http://www.jayloden.com/... and it didn't work for sh*t, so I deleted & Uninstaled all my AIM crap. Then downloaded the newest version from there website. The hyperbarss3.d11 search mentioned by Jerrai...Well everything seems to be working now!...Hopefully for good!

OK, HERE IS THE SOLUTION TO THE PROBLEM YOU ALL ARE TALKING ABOUT!

First, get rid of all AIM stuff on your computer. Go to remove programs-remove AIM and any related AIM toolbars. Then go do a search on your computer under the start menu for AIM under files AND words or phases. You will get over a hundred returns. Delete them all one by one. Then go to internet options on your web browsers and delete all cookies and temp internet files. Search again for AIM files. If you got the stupid weatherbug thing with AIM, go to your start menu, all programs, right click on it, properties and find its location. Then delete it. Then empty your recycling bin. Restart your computer.

Now, go to www.oldversion.com, click on AOL Instant Messenger, and scroll down to
AOL v5.2.3292.

Download this version and follow the normal installation procedures. Then all is good.

I GUARANTEE THIS WILL WORK!!

The older 5.2 versions do not have all of the adware and other crap associated with it like the newer versions that screws with your up-to-date computer.

Good luck!

hey i got a problem that is kind of similar to the one everyone else has been talking about. I can get onto aim easily, however its my profile that is causing me problems. When i click on "edit profile", i can get to that screen with the option of letting other people search for me and stuff. But when i click on the "next" button, i get kicked off, every time. "A message appears that saysAOL Instant Messenger has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

I tried uninstalling/reinstalling aim, but that did not work. Although, I did not do the extra work as the previous guy said to do (delete cookies, extra files, recycling bin, etc.)

If anyone has had this problem or knows what to do to let me access my profile, please let me know. And if the case is that i simply need to delete the extra files (cookies, recycling bin, etc.) then please notify me of that too.

Thanks.
