Sorry if this post doesn't belong in this area :(
Hello I been reading around and I am lost with this. I tried uninstalling and deleting all files related to aim and registry, reinstalling, ran all spyware programs under the sun and nothing seems to fix it. I even tried installing older versions of aim and I still get crashes. I am trying to run the lastest version now 5.9 3861 and I keep getting the error message

AppName: aim.exe AppVer: 5.9.3861.0 ModName: nvauddec.ax
ModVer: 0.0.0.222 Offset: 00044862

If anyone knows how to fix this problem please let me know. however i can run the beta aim just fine, but i would rather use the one that is more stable and not still in the testing phase for my main IM'ing.

Thanks in advance,

Phantom Phreak

As odd as this sounds...you should get the latest version of your graphics card drivers (re-install regardless if they're the latest).

nvauddec.ax is an nVidia file.

Hello I was hoping someone would know the answer but I seemed to found it on my own. Just in case others run into this problem, here is what that error refers to:

AppName: aim.exe AppVer: 5.9.3861.0 ModName: nvauddec.ax
ModVer: 0.0.0.222 Offset: 00044862

Is NVIDIA PureVideo Decoder software i had installed and for some reason doesn't like Aim at all So i was forced to uninstall the decoder. and Aim resume to work...
