put in a s3 savage ix agp card. when i boot up, i cant see anthing from the onboard video anymore. and when i plug into the agp card and boot up, the screen is all garbled, you can just make out things, but trying to install the drivers is nearly impossible... how do i load using the onboard video as the main video while i set up the agp card?

Go into your BIOS and disable on-board video, you can't have both enabled at the same time, hence the garbled screen.
You don't need on-board to setup the AGP, just disable on-board, whack yur Savage in and boot up, Xp should recognise it and install it's own drivers, you can then update them.
