Hi, :)

I have a little problem here :D
i had a geforce 4 mx 440 8x 64MB DDR Graphics card but ive bought a new one: ATI Radeon 9600 Pro 256MB

when i go into BIOS
then select Advanced chipset features
select AGP & PSp bridge control
and then AGP aperture size

it shows the memory as 64MB which was my old card
but my new card has 256MB. is it safe to put it to 256MB or does AGP aperture size mean something else?

thanx alot ;)

AGP Aperture size refers to the amount of system ram that your graphics card can use. With 256mb of it's own you need not alter the aperture setting. You could reduce it to zero thereby ensuring all your system ram is available for windows and none of it is reserved for graphics.

I've heard the optimal setting for the AGP aperture size is 25% of your total system ram. I'm not really played with the setting and it doesn't seem to make too much of a difference.
