Age Of empires 2 on XP?

Got an issue with this game.. got Xp on my com.. when i run the exe. it says that the program had an error and needs to close.. help?

Try changeing the compatabillity setting to the game. Right click on the game and select compatability and set it to work in W98.

I play Age of Empires 2 on an XP Pro SP2 PC OK. There are patches on the Microsoft website to be installed.
