After installing XP SP2 I cannot print to network printers, spoolsv.exe is at or near 100% CPU usage. The printing worked fine before installing SP2 and works fine if you uninstal SP2. I tried deleting anything in windows/system32/spool/printers but it didn't help.

A bug with SP2 maybe?

Andy

What I found is that I can print to network printers, although accessing them takes a LONG time. Curiously, I still have a DOS-based editor which prints to a network printer instantly. (One win for old DOS!)

Ironically and with some significant poetic justice, what does not work at all, at least for us, is trying to print to a network printer from any MS Office application, notably MS Word.
