After reformatting Windows XP Professional from my CD, i left a partition up between D and C drive, so i only wiped my C drive. Now, i seem to be encountering some problems. Sometimes after re-booting, i can't move files around (click and drag) files, either on my desktop, nor in folders. Also, sometimes i can't delete files at all either, until i reboot again. Sometimes in an attempt to install another program from the CD, the computer locks up. I've run Trend Micro anti-virus and eAnthology anti-viruses and they show my computer as clean. Any suggestions?

Try start >> run >> chkdsk c: /r, you will be asked if you want to schedule it for after next reboot..choose yes and reboot. I take a little while depending on how big the c: drive is.

Well, before i got the message, I popped in my windows XP cd again, and went to repair, went to the Ms-dos prompt, and did Format c: and format d:, to reformat both drives, and then re-installed XP on my C: drive. However, halfway through the installation, some problem occurred (cannot remember specifically what), but the installation continued on anyways. So XP was successfully installed, and I am still unable to delete files, or move things around my desktop. Also, i am unable to do virus scan with eAnthology, because the window keeps closing. I used Trend Micro to scan, and it still came up with nothing.
I tried your suggestion, and still, didn't work.
Could the faulty windows XP disc cause this problem? Should i try to get a new disc? Could this be problems within my HD or my hardware?
Thanks for all input
