Finally I have nearly recovered from a recent crash (thanks to those who have tried to assist).today I discovere the cause blaster, which i think i have got rid of using a patch and a symnatec download. my problem now is my symnatec security internet 2003 is saying it has been altered, it is not functioning well, and liveupdate does not help. It suggests I delete folders which when i try to i am told they canot be deleted. windows update seems also not to be workin. prior to the crash both were set to automatic updating.

thanks
