For your main chipset drivers go here and get the Intel Chipset Identification Utility and run it on the Advent:
http://www.intel.com/support/chipse...
Once you know which chipset you have, get the proper drivers for it from the Intel site. You need at least the INF Update utility, and if it's there, the IAA (Intel Application Accelerator) which you load after the INF updates. The INF updates will install your hard controller drivers, Intel USB drivers, AGP drivers, etc., etc. If your sound is Intel the drivers for it will probably be loaded when you run the INF update Utility as well.

You usually can't get the complete contents of the CDs that came with the mboard or the system on the web. If it was orginally a system with pre-installed software, there are normally downloads for your model on the brand name's web site - but it appears Advent UK no longer has a web site.

"....is there a way of find out wat motherboard i have..."

Open up the case and look for larger characters printed on the mboard that might be a model number - often between the slots - the mboard maker may or may not be beside that, or obvious elsewhere.
The make and model may also be displayed on the first black screen as you boot, if that screen isn't obscured by a logo screen, but it is better to look for the model number on the mboard itself.
