Are there any good P2P's out there that aren't bundled with spyware or adware? I had WinMx, but it didn't seem to be very good and didn't work all that great, and I made the mistake of believing Limewire's website when they said it didn't come bundled with anything, which was a lie, however it seems to be the best P2P I have used so far.

If you are looking for P2P's for music or file copying, I'm afraid they are all going to be loaded with spyware/adware/malware/viruses. I have p;icked up some doozeys, when I was just curiously looking. Proceed with caution, at your own risk.

Good luck.

Emule is ok - mind you, like all of these things (including MSN) you can still d/l harmful or infected programs.

Bit of an overview

Drop the last year into the silent limbo of the past. Let it go, for it was imperfect, and thank God that it can go.

Stick with WinMX. If you encountered difficulties with it, you probably did not have it configured properly. Did you recheck your incoming TCP connections?
You didn't specify exactly what problems you had.... I would check your connection and/or port configuration.

Of course all P2P is obviously risky, but I believe WinMX to at least be a tad safer than some others. Good luck...

I guess I didn't configure winmx right, but that was a long time ago. I just had a hard time actually downloading things b/c they were also being queued and downloads took forever, and I have cable. Thanks.

The fear of retribution from the record companies has made people stop file sharing. Not looking, just not sharing. WinMX doesn't have any spyware, to my knowledge. If you are behind a firewall and the other person you connect to is also behind a firewall then you won't be able to DL from them and will get an error.

Search up KazzaLite243

It might be a hard search..
But when you get it, its still popular. Has many members.
It has no spyware whatsoever, and has an option so that you can still share any file without divulging all your saved files. SO no sys admin can see what youv got.
In Canada... * roe* its still legal to share music files. * big toothy grin*

A computer is a perfectionist's nightmare.

Im looking into a program called AquaLime, a clean version of Limewire. idk about how many users it has or how recent it is, in comparision is it to the normal limewire, though. I'm just looking for something that won't screw with my new comp. Thanks for everything

i paid $18.88 for limewire pro and it is awesome! i have dsl and it downloads very fast. i can download a whole bunch of mpeg files within a coupe of minutes. i don't get any spyware. my good virus software won't even allow me to download viruses anyway. it's all just basically a personal preference.

I have Limewire myself, and then i have the spyware program Spybot Search and Destroy. For me, limewire has worked fine, with little adware and things like that, so i think that limewire is proboly the best one.
